EYFS Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is built around four principles:

• A Unique Child

• Positive Relationships

• Enabling Environments

• Children Learn and Develop in different ways and at different Rates

In terms of Learning and Development, there are seven areas.

The three prime areas are:

• Communication and Langauge

• Physical Development

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development

There are also four specific areas through which the three prime areas are strenghtened and applied. These are:

• Literacy

• Mathematics

• Understanding of the World

• Expressive Arts and Design
